CFA Challenge in 2022-2023
HEC Liège will once again participate in the CFA challenge in 2022-2023.
As you might know, we won the BENELUX cup (out of 14 universities like Vlerick Business School, Maastricht University, UCL, Rotterdam, Tilburg,…) during the academic year 2014-2015, 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2021-2022 and were highly ranked - although not selected - during the other competitions. Feedbacks from the financial analysts have always been very positive on the work submitted from HEC Liège.
The challenge is part of the optional course "Strategic Financial Analysis" (5 ECTS). Five students will be selected for the course.
The CFA challenge is considered as "the investment Olympics" for university students. It consists of a competition between teams of three to five students from different universities regarding the valuation of a publicly traded company as well as the analysis of its competitors, and industry. More than 3000 students from over 650 universities, 89 businesses and 106 societies in 55 countries and territories participate each year. For detailed information about the Research Challenge: see https://www.cfainstitute.org/en/societies/challenge or https://cfavba.nl/en/cfaresearchchallenge
The team is coached by both an industry mentor and an academic mentor (myself). This is a unique opportunity for you to be involved in a high-profile and exciting challenge that will offer you the possibility to run a real-business-life case in a very competitive international environment. It will - obviously - as well significantly enhance your CV for your future career.

After the meeting, students will be invited to submit their applications by early September. 5 students will then be selected by end September.
